Down by the Bay

Although his music isn’t my personal cup of tea — like my drugs, I prefer my tea green — Mayer Hawthorne’s soulful crooning does something for the guys over at HUF. Hawthorne’s two-month US tour is ending on April 15th (today) in San Francisco, and to commemorate the occasion, HUF is releasing a limited run of t-shirts (whatevers) alongside this promotional video (sweet).

The clip, filmed and edited by Martin Reigel and featuring Keith Hufnagel, Billy Teichen, and several other SF locals, entertains on multiple levels — it’s part skate video, part music video, hell, it’s practically a Bay Area tourism promotion. It’s gorgeously shot, and paired with the Mayer Hawthorne’s moody rendition of Tony Bennet’s classic “I Left My Heart In San Francisco”, you might end up feeling a bit like your heart is there as well.
