All Apologies

Earlier this week, I mentioned how epic Lance Mountain’s part was in Flip’s Extremely Sorry. Now, in a truly epic turn, skate blogger extraordinaire Watson just paid his dues to the skateboarding community for the rest of forever with this excellent re-edit of the film. Nevermind the fact that they’ve been using the same title since 2002, it’s still a great video. Well, it is now anyway, after most the shit that appeals only to 13-year-olds was edited out.

I don’t know why I’m surprised, but Bob Burnquist’s part really impressed me. Not that I’ve somehow been ignorant of the fact that the dude is a fucking megaramp wizard, which is the most rare breed in all of the skateboarding dark arts, but for whatever reason he was always more of a fixture in the culture than a skater I actually paid attention to. This must be some kind of vestigial prejudice left over from when I was a zitty teenager who found vert skating boring — nonetheless, the shit he pulls off on the megaramp rail, however many feet above certain death, will knock your retinas right out of your eyeballs. And this shit isn’t even in DISNEY DIGITAL THREE FUCKING D.

The rest of the team does a great job as well, which is much more evident now that the video is cut down to exclusively what it was intended to portray in the first place — balls out skateboarding nuttery.
