You know what the real problem with skateboarding is? It’s just so much goddamned fun. It’s hard to stop! It’s hard to want to like, work, or pretty much do anything that isn’t as fun as skateboarding once you’ve known the joy that is falling all over the filthy ground for hours and loving every minute of it.

So… it’s pretty much just like drugs! And like any drug problem, my addiction to skateboarding has taken its toll on my life. It has turned me into a miserable person, as I’m unable to enjoy a normal life now that I know the uncharted territories of fun on the horizon, far beyond my reach. Fuck that “skateboarding saved my life” shit, how about “skateboarding made me realize just how bad real life is.” Yeah, I guess you could say I’m a little bitter.

These guys sure have it good though. Check out this Elwood East Coast tour video — the skating is on point, and most of all, it just looks like a great time. Shit, I had a great time and I was only watching it. And that’s pretty much what passes for fun around here these days, when you’ve got a sprained knee and a job that makes you want to put bullets in your brain.
